DH is away this weekend, a few hours away, and I have a chilled day planned with DD tomorrow, lunch, seeing friends, dinner out over the weekend...

Just woken up with a stomach gurgling like a dying whale and the natural instinct to sprint to the loo...did I make it? Yes...and no....blessed with explosive diarrhoea and projectile vomiting. I've never had to chose if it's sick or poop ends up on the floor (or wall)😭 retched so hard I wet myself too 😩 DD is emetophobic so I can't even ask her to cradle me lovingly while I hug the toilet.

Anyone have anything amusing/ boring/ fascinating to keep my mind off round two occurring??

Always prioritise the shit! You can usually aim a vom into some kind of nearby receptacle whilst on the toilet (I have thrown up in the cat’s litter tray before now; it is handily next to the human toilet, and cleanup was remarkably easy due to the clumping litter 😂) but you have very few options for directing your stream of shit if you don’t park your arse on the toilet.

I hope you feel better soon, please try and sip water as often as you can!

Oh no OP, that sounds rough. Your daughter sounds lovely and glad your sense of humour is still with you. Hope it passes soon.

My worst recently was getting ill at the end of a holiday with friends and spending all night on the loo. They had an earlier flight, so left at 5 but I still had to leave for mine before shops opened. Had to clench in taxi to airport only to find no pharmacy, so had to approach people in the airport to see if they had any meds. Thankfully it had calmed down by the time we boarded and the steward had some diacalm. The gutting thing was I’d used points for a business class upgrade and could only sip water whilst everyone around me sipped champagne and ate nice food 😭

hope it eases soon

I'm awake because I woke up with diarrhoea about 4am, praying it's not the start of a bug and it was the takeaway I had last night.

Sounds like you have norovirus OP, it's horrible. I had it one year just before Christmas, it spread throughout my whole team. Wiped me totally out over the festive period, but luckily no one else in the family caught it.

Sorry some of you are also having a rough time. Gentle hugs to you all.

Apparently norovirus going around - hope you feel better soon

Wilfrida1 · 13/12/2024 05:28

You have my sympathy. My husband and I had norovirus whist staying in a B&B. I have a lasting memory of him on the loo clutching a bucket our host had given him (she also had noro a couple of days before, but hadn’t told us that) and then I was about to explode, so I sat on the bidet next to him and threw up into a vase. I had chucked the dried flowers out first though.

It was definitely one of those bonding moments.

I've gone down with the lurgy everyone's got atm, have literally felt too poorly to sleep as my body aches so much 😫 My temperature is currently 38.4 45 mins after having paracetamol.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 13/12/2024 06:22

Oh rubbish, op! Hope you’re feeling better soon.

It’s lovely your DD is looking after you but I would keep her away as much as possible. Norovirus is highly contagious. When DD2 had it a couple of years ago, within 12 hours DD1 was throwing up too. I had to call my mum in the middle of the night to come over as neither DH or I could look after her or DD2 (crying in her cot) as we were both throwing up ourselves.

Sure enough, mum got it not long after that. Then MIL when she looked after the kids. Spread so fast!

Duly noted @wetbandits ! Lessons have definitely been learned!

Hope everyone else struggling is feeling a bit better this morning. How are you doing @mummytoamiracle ?

Thank you for your stories and keeping me sane. Hit a rough patch around 4.30 but managed to sleep it off hugging the toilet. Brought back memories of my misspent teenage years, so not all bad 😂

Didn't sleep well at all and have only been given co-codamol now which isn't touching the sides ! How are you feeling today?
