The top of these Nike Air Max's has a fabric that isn't gore tex. I really like them but I wanted water proof trainers... is there any product I can use to help with this or am I stuck with either buying all leather/gore tex

I wish I had the time to worry about synthetic problems like this.

NikWax do a spray which you could try. It's intended for reproofing but I've used it on shoes before to give them some repellence.

There sprays you can get or if that doesn’t work would waterproof socks work?

@JacquesHarlow and yet you have the time to open, read and reply?

Devilsmommy · 12/12/2024 09:18

Can you use scotchguard spray on material?

Gallowayan · 12/12/2024 09:19

You can re-waterproof outdoor clothing and shoes with a spray you can buy at camping/outdoor shops. I don't know if it works on non waterproof shoes though. I would just buy waterproof trainers.

ErrolTheDragon · 12/12/2024 09:35

The thing about good quality waterproof shoes is that the construction matters as well as the material. If the shoes don't have a gusseted tongue and good seams they'll leak even if you proof them.

I believe the Goretex company checks the construction of items that want to use its film.

Thanks all. Even @JacquesHarlow (who wasted the time she doesn't apparently have to comment).
