Well at least he tried to organise a suprise for you- mine would probably ask me what I would like as a suprise!

LIZS · 30/04/2008 13:24

well it isn't exactly a suprise. He's just finally getting around to something we've been meaning to do for ages.

My DP organised a surprise holiday for me once. Well, i cottoned on - ages before, but kept shtumm, i made sure my mum and dad could have DD1, as i knew he wouldnt be organised to ensure they hadnt booked something themselves. The weekend before my birthday he went on to tell me we were off on holiday that morning - but wouldnt tell me where - thats great DP, but you should have been a little more discrete than packing my riding gear in my suitcase where i was bound to see it . I played dumb right up til the end, even when we arrived at a farm with a field full of horses!!!

It was still the best holiday we have ever had and i'll always have happy memories from it. It reminds me that he really did love me, things are different now, we dont have anyone to look after DD2, financial hardship etc, all taken a toll on relationship - so for me a surprise is if we manage to get through a whole weekend without bitching at each other.

So, enjoy your surprise, whatever it might be
