To think it’s not a Christmas party in February?

I work for a large corporate firm and we get allocated a specific budget each year for each team. Our team have decided to use it to go out in February - as the money will got further.

I just think what’s the point? It’s got nothing to do with Christmas and the whole point is to have a night for Christmas.

I think this is a good idea tbh. February can be quite dismal whereas December is packed and busy. I agree they shouldn’t be calling it a Christmas do though.

This is pretty common in my experience; finding a date in December is a pain in the arse and everything costs more.

Was it a vote? It seems sensible to me!

Hospitality often have their Christmas party after the holiday season

A business I used to work for had a department that just did personal tax returns. They always had their department Christmas party in February to celebrate completing all the tax returns

I work in hospitality so our christmas do is always end of Jan/beginning of Feb as we are too busy in December. It's fine and it's something to look forward to in a dull February.

Yes, December can be quite stressful and busy whereas nothing much happens in dreary February so it's something to look forward to.

To be fair, there's so much on in December it's exhausting, so that might actually be quite nice to have in February instead

I think in a lot of ways it makes more sense. Trying to find a time everyone is free in December is hard!

By all means have a party in January or February, but it's silly to call it a Christmas party.

It make sence to hold it in February, but it’s not a Christmas do.
