Mental health struggles and feeling extremely low

Most of my life my mental health has been really poor. In the most recent years I've tried all the different medications offered by drs but never found they worked for me.
Recently I've just started spiraling, letting every little thing get to me, mood swings constantly, overthinking every interaction and since I passed my driving test 3 months ago I've been so hard on myself with every small mistake I make when driving.

Work stress and pressure has also made me feel like I'm constantly just above the water and slowly drowning. My partner doesn't understand as he has never had anxiety like this and just passes everything off when it happens.

How do I get over this impending doom? I wake up every single day with my heart racing and thinking about doing things sends me into a panick.

Congrats on passing your test!

I'm sorry you're feeling this way. Have you tried counselling or therapy? Lots of workplaces now offer it through an Employee Assistance Programme so you don't have to pay out of pocket.

I've struggled with similar, and I find trying to reframe things really helpful. So instead of giving yourself a hard time for driving errors, celebrate your pass and safety. Do you have a black box on the car? Mine has an app and I can see how 'good' my driving is overall. If you see yourself spiralling, tell yourself your successes, even though it may seem empty at the time. The more you do it, the more it helps.

First I would see your GP and look into beta blockers and medication adjustment or change. I'd also get a check up because anxiety can have physical causes.

Second, I'd rehaul your diet making sure you're eating well and drinking water. Cut down on alcohol and caffeine.

Third Id take a good multivitamin, Vitamin D and magnesium.

Fourth, I'd look into mindfulness and meditation and get exercise everyday. Also try to spend some time in the sun.

Fifth Id look into therapy. You could try BACP for a therapist.

Finally you could try writing it all down in a journal everyday.
