Sudden blurry vision/peripheral

Sorry posting here for quicker responses!

Over the last 30 mins my vision has become blurred and worsening. At first I was just rubbing my eye thinking it was very slight.

It's like you know when you see heat wobble above a road?! It looks like that all towards my right side although I can't tell which eye.
It's like I can see an electric current even when my eyes are closed.

No headache!
Although I do often have headaches they never include any visual issues.

Slightly panicked!

Visual migraine, will probably disappear quite quickly, but give you the same post migraine 'hangover' as one that gives you head pain.

Don’t waste time on here. Vision is precious. Call 111 or if you have an Eye Hospital with an emergency department, I’d go there. I’m in the South East and a colleague had something like this on a night out. There happened to be a GP on the next table, realised our colleague was suddenly unable to read the menu properly and advised us to go to Moorfield Eye Hospital, he ended up having urgent surgery there that saved his vision. Good luck, get help!

I had similar, it was an aura migraine (ocular migraine). Went to the opticians to have my eyes tested. It lasted maybe half an hour.

Migraine I’ve only ever had it happen once but it went away on its own

I had this and went to Specsavers where they do eye A and E triage in my area. They did loads of tests and luckily found nothing wrong. If you phone any local optician they will tell you which one does the triage- they said this is the system used these days. The optician refers you to the Eye Hospital if you need to go.

I've since discovered that it was, in my case, a perimenopause symtom. A few of my friends have also had it.

Agree with post above.

Had similar, and so very nearly didn’t bother getting it checked out.. Go now, preferably to an eye hospital if you can get to one with emergency walk in open now.

Could be a partially detached retina. I had similar-a "wobble" in my vision, and a sort of flickering light in the same place when I closed my eye. I mentioned it at my check-up, and my optician sent me straight to the eye hospital. Get it looked at ASAP. If the retina detaches, it dies; and there's no cure for that.
