Constant colds since having baby

Is this normal? I had DS in April and have pretty much had a constant cold since then. Before I was pregnant and during pregnancy I had maybe 1 or 2 colds per year. I’ve just got another stinker of a cold and the last one I had ended on 7th November (I know the date as I had just gone on holiday)!

Ive been presuming it’s a combination of new germs (we are out and about quite a lot with other mums and babies), lack of sleep, lack of exercise due to no time and lack of sleep, poor diet due to lack of time, sleep and motivation. I’m wondering if I might be deficient in something?

Is it normal or would you ask the gp for a blood test? I want to get back to exercise but every time I start I’m floored again within days with another cold!

I'd ask the GP if you are worried but it does sound fairly normal. Lack of sleep hammers your immune system. Baby groups and the dreaded soft play can be hotbeds of germs.

I’m the same!! I used to rarely get a cold! Had baby in April. Had at least three colds since the colder season started. Taking vitamin d and finding that chicken bone broth has helped this cold get better more quickly.

Have you had your thyroid checked? It can go wonky after pregnancy, and it affects immunity.
But otherwise: par for the course

Try echinacea, vitamin d and c

V normal. I had a permanent cold until I stopped BFing at one year. The permanent cough and my pelvic floor were not a good match! Then went back to normal.

When my immune system is feeling hammered I usually try probiotics to boost gut health. Kefir/probiotic yoghurt/tablets. Also vitamins. Might be worth having a blood test to check for deficiencies? But vit c, d and zinc prob most important.
