To say I don’t like my four year old much at the moment

I guess it’s the behaviour I dislike and not like this all the time but oh god he’s wearing me down.

In less than an hour after getting home he's

repeatedly switched the lights on and off and on and off
rumnaged theoigh a drawer and thrown the contents out
running round in circles treading on anything he can find and breaking stuff
spilled milk on purpose

its just relentless and grinding me down So much. I’m so angry all the time and hate it.

My 4YO is being really defiant at the moment. If I offer him two options then he must always find a third. He's constantly looking for ways to have autonomy over his life. It's hard. My 1YO also has her molars coming in...gaaaaaah! All you can do is ride the wave!

It’s horrible. I know I’ve gone wrong as a parent. But I just wish they’d do as you ask them to / tell them to. Mine just ignores me.

Yep, kids can wear you down at times. It’s a good job they’re cute! My youngest was a horror at that age. I used to tell myself it was good that she won’t a pushover when she grows up. Hang in there, it gets easier.

Dd was an absolute angel. Slept through from 2 weeks, barely cried.
Was a charming, polite and very bright toddler
And then she turned 4. We tend not to mention that year. It could probably still reduce me to tears. Not a great year.
And then she turned five and was lovely again.
We didn't have the terrible twos or threes. We had the fucking fours.
