I currently have another thread on here about my ear blocking up after a nasty sinus cold.
It's been 2 weeks since ear blocked up and I can hear a little more out of it but it's not back properly far from. It keeps crackling still, and now when I hear cars or water running, anything loud it makes my ears feel more full and wierd, anyone else had this with blocked ears after a virus,. I can't listen to music or anything coz it's to much for them. Is this because my ears need to unblock properly? Or any fluid causing it to sound wierd against noise?

Yes! I had exactly this and I have a cure!
I spoke to a GP about mine. They asked what happened when I tried to pop them and I said that they kind of unblock for a split second and then go back to how they were. I also had the crackling you describe.
She told me to go to the pharmacy and buy some beconase nasal spray. You don’t need a prescription for it and it’s actually for hayfever! Squirt it up your nose, how ever often it says on the instructions and it’ll unblock your ears in a few days. It’s a steroid nasal spray and your ears and nose are connected so it will work. Good luck!

I don't know either, you can ask a doctor.

I often get this after an illness (COVID was the worst!) Perhaps you just need a bit of help to clear the aftermath of the infection.

Specsavers do a ear suction and they literally suck the gunk out your ears (they check the ear drum is intact first of course). It costs about £50

You have to make it all super soft by dropping olive oil in your ears for a couple of days prior though. Be warned this will make it feel worse and your ears may feel fuller but that's exactly what is supposed to happen and is totally normal.

I would book in with specsavers and ask them to help you out.
