To ignore my doctors advice?

Went to my doctor for irregular periods. They were painful and heavier than usual and had no pattern to when they were going to come. I suspect pcos but it has not been confirmed. It’s been like this for a couple of years. I’ve had blood tests but hormone levels all normal. My doctor suggested the mini pill would help so I started that. One week in I started lightly bleeding but it got heavier everyday. By the start of week 4 it was heavier than a regular period. I had biggish clots and the worst lower back and pelvic pain I’d ever had. Phoned the doctor and he told me I’m sure it hurts but just keep going and give it time to settle. 5 days later I stopped taking it I just couldn’t stand it any longer. I’ve now not taken a pill for nearly a week but the bleeding is coming out even more than before. I mean pouring out with large clots. Phoned the doctor again and he had a massive go at me telling me it was my fault for stopping taking it and I wouldn’t have been in this mess if I’d listened to him. Now he wants me to start retaking it but I can’t go through that again. Anybody had anything similar to this?

I'm a little torn, maybe the pills did need longer to work but I'm not an expert.
I do think that your Dr sounds like a nobhead, I would ring your surgery and ask to speak to a female Dr or a female nurse practitioner, in my experience they're more sympathetic. The issues you're going through sound so awful and I'm sorry you're going through it, it's not something you should have to put up with and don't let yourself be fobbed off x

Actually pouring out? Because that sounds like "seek urgent medical advice" territory

Would you consider the mirina coil?

I had pouring blood after dd2 was born and it was the only thing that stopped it.

Not so much pouring out but every time I stand I feel a huge gush. I have just been to my local pharmacy and she said to not start taking the pill again and gave me some tranexamic acid to take so fingers crossed that works to help with the bleeding. She was much more sympathetic and understanding than the doctor.
I did ask to see a female doctor but I was told you can’t just pick and choose who to see 🤷🏼‍♀️

I think mini pill needs at least 6 months to see benefits with periods and probably 12 months to see if periods will stop. As it thins the womb lining but it takes time

Can you ask GP about tranexsemic acid ?
