Should I be worried??

We're getting lots of Amazon parcels through the post at the moment (me and my DH share an Amazon account as he pays for prime, so even parcels I order come addressed to him).

We were sat down at the table and he was opening a few that had arrived that day. He opens one (address to him) and it contains some sexy black underwear! It was shape wear, with a corset and butt enhancers. Size XS (which I am not!). No note or receipt in there. He seemed genuinely baffled and we had a bit of a laugh about it. There's no record of it in our shared purchase history. He thought maybe he'd used someone else's Amazon account in the past and they'd purchased it but accidentally sent it to our address rather than their own as it was saved in their account.

AIBU to be worried? Is this just some weird glitch in the Amazon system or am I being naive?? No other red flags in terms of him having an affair and to be honest I don't know when he'd find the time!

I mean, you were there when it was opened, if his reaction seemed genuine then I'd be thinking it was a funny, random Amazon incident! If he was expecting something dodgy then he wouldnt be doing it on a shared account that you both have access to would he?

PoissonOfTheChrist · 25/11/2024 10:30

Sounds like the seller mixed up the labels.

My friends got about 15 pairs of pants in all sizes. 😳
Right address etc.
is there some sort of scam going on?

Dollybantree · 25/11/2024 10:32

I'd keep your nose dry and maybe do a bit of snooping. He could easily have another Amazon account you don't know about. Maybe he has things delivered to another address but ticked the wrong box with this one or maybe it's something he'd forgot he'd ordered and mistakenly opened in front of you.

Obviously it could be a mistake but it's a bit of a red flag. Men will always find time to have affairs!

This. With no other red flags I wouldn't even raise an eyebrow, it seems to happen all the time.

Was there not a thread on here the other day about strange amazon deliveries? I for one once got a very niche sized light bulb. I hope my husband doesn't think I have a secret lamp that I'm hiding from him! It's really common OP. I genuinely wouldn't worry about this at all. By all means, keep it in your mind, because we never really know what anyone is doing, but I really don't think this is anything to worry about.

OAPapparently · 25/11/2024 10:43

As he opened it infront of you I wouldn’t be concerned.
If he was up to something dodgy he would be hiding the parcels away to open them.
Also as he knows you are receiving lots of Amazon parcels at the moment he would be more likely to order from elsewhere if it was for dodgy means.

BabyOwlinthePlumeria · 25/11/2024 11:08

I ordered rock salt and was sent a vacuum for what it's worth. Couldn't even exchange it for my salt as they said it wasn't in their system.

Thanks all for putting my mind at rest. Yes my instinct is that he's telling the truth. He did look slightly flustered/embarrassed when he opened it but may have just been his reaction to the sexy underwear!

It's from a Chinese company so possibly a scam. Shame they don't fit otherwise they could have been useful...

By the way you can have items delivered in your name or even to anyone at another address. I have one account but my kids order using it and get delivered to their own addresses in their names.

Didimum · 25/11/2024 12:02

If it's not on your purchase history then he can't have ordered it, surely? I have had books mistakenly delivered to me before.

ChocolateTelephone · 25/11/2024 12:05

There’s a scam going about where people do this - usually it’s either because they want to generate fake reviews from a verified purchaser or there will be a QR code somewhere on the product or packaging which people scan in an attempt to find the correct recipient and it’s actually phishing. Can’t remember the exact details of how they work but have seen people talk about them.

In the absence of any other concerns and given his unsuspicious reaction I would assume error or attempted scam and not stress about it.

Do they fit your husband?

KoalaCalledKevin · 25/11/2024 12:24

Given that's it's nearly Christmas and therefore he could very very easily have avoided opening this in front of you by suggesting it had a present for you inside, I think it's more likely that he had no idea it was coming.
