Morrisons low stock?

I've just done a Morrisons online order for myself and my elderly Mum. I couldn't help but notice they seemed to have no stock of lots of items. Things like Babybel cheeses, Chicago pizza, Alpen light bars - Nada. Has anyone else noticed? Just seemed odd, especially at this time of year.

It's none of that. Some supermarkets have been badly affected by a software issue - mainly morrisons and i think Sainsbury's. A company called blueyonder that supplies them software on organising stock levels, deliveries etc has been hacked. It was in the news.

The hack involved the store I work for, but the only impact it has had on deliveries is not knowing exactly when they are coming. We are still getting the stock we need

I’ve noticed in the last few weeks that variety isn’t as wide as it usually is - my cat’s chosen cat food and decaffeinated coffee have been particularly difficult to find. The cat is not impressed.

That explains "today", but not last week, last month, etc. I've found Morrisons to be running out of lots of things for several months now. There's definitely something going on in the background. In the two stores I regularly go into, the shelves are seldom full, in fact seldom even half full, not just specific areas, but basically everything, lots of gaps where they've completely run out. Personally, I think they're on the way out and may well be the next supermarket chain to go under. I think their customer base is being torn in half. The people who want cheap are going to Aldi and Lidl and the people who want quality are going to M&S and Waitrose. I think a lot of the rot setting in was that they weren't ready for click n collect nor home deliveries when covid hit whereas their competitiors were already doing it so it left Morrisons behind. Even their in store cafes which always used to be busy and served good food are now mostly empty/quiet and the food quality/speed of service has plumetted.

That's been my experience as well.

I Heard about Morrisons are on the collapse. Probably not paying suppliers as well.

My ex works (probably still does for them). Heard some horror stories about them. Such as a butcher at a store minced a load of pork by accident. Then decided to coat them in Chinese marinade. Then call them turkey burgers! Pork burgers were brought in.

Can you imagine what shit Morrisons would be in if someone was allergic to pork ate one of these burgers? Or if a Muslim discovered that they were eating pork?

There is an article online that describes Morrisons poaching a person due to start at ASDA and in the same article ASDA poaching a person from Morrisons. The person that ASDA have poached is Morrisons’s supply chain director Lauren Lepley. Out of Stock = Supply chain issues. Open for discussion.
