Yes, he was dusty from work but an HOUR??? When was the last time I had an hour long bath before 11pm thats what id like to know. Not only that, DD wont be bathed tonight because it is too late now - if i have a bath during the day, i have a ten minute wash down - he gets to relax with cup of coffee (that i made him) and leave me to prepare DDs tea, whilst trying to keep her from pestering daddy in the bath........

I'd go mad if my DH sat in bath for an hour when he hadn't seen the DC all day, I expect him to come in (have a shower if mucky) then help me. Maybe I am being unreasonable!? I know for a fact if he was a SAHD and I was out all day working that I would not be able to sit in the bath for an hour, he would expect me to spend some time with our children.

2point4kids · 28/04/2008 21:07

I would have told DD to go and chat to Daddy while he is in the bath - that would have kept her occupied and hurried him up lol

bohemianbint · 28/04/2008 21:10

Had he had a particularly bad day? Did he just need a bit of time out? (that should go both ways mind!)

KaSo · 28/04/2008 21:12

It's the first thing I do when I get in from work, so I'd have no problem with my Dh doing the same thing.

FairyMum · 28/04/2008 21:15

He has been at work all day. You have been at home all day. IMO YABU

helenelisabeth · 28/04/2008 21:19

What about her DH coming in, letting Lucyellensmum get in the bath, making her a coffee and seeing to his DD whilst she soaks for an hour?! Is it not equally as tiring looking after children?

scottishmummy · 28/04/2008 21:25

both work yes 1 of them has been out and is covered in Brick dust the other has had time to post on MN

lucyellensmum · 28/04/2008 21:31

SM, you seem to have a bit of a problem with me, have i done something to offend you?

OP posts:
helenelisabeth · 28/04/2008 21:32

Haha but posting on Mumsnet is hard work - you have to juggle the baby on your knee, stop them chewing the pen lid and choking AND sip your wine tea.

helenelisabeth · 28/04/2008 21:33

I think SM may have been replying tongue in cheek to my post about it being tiring looking after children Lucyellensmum. Don't think she was being sarcastic to your post.

scottishmummy · 28/04/2008 21:33

im offsky it was a light hearted statement of fact.you are not covered in brick dust are you?

helenelisabeth · 28/04/2008 21:36

Is this just a one off lucyellensmum or every night?

lucyellensmum · 28/04/2008 21:41

what? SM getting frustrated with me and wanting to give me a good shaking?? . Thats what i meant by problem, not being rude. Oh, shall i stop digging.

DP does do this a few times, but really, its not a major issue - because he is such a good daddy, and he is pretty good in bed too.

  • no your DH spending hours scrubbing his bollocks in the bath is what I meant!
lilolilmanchester · 28/04/2008 21:51

It's the HOUR that would get me, not the need to have a bath/relax for a reasonable amount of time after a hard day's work. An hour is not reasonable IMO.

lucyellensmum · 28/04/2008 21:54

sorry SM, i was being a mardy mare

But anyway - im mighty pissed off now, DP has fallen asleep upstairs, he still has some painting to do (and no i dont feel sorry for the poor sod because he has had ages to do this so is only up against time because he leaves everything to the last minute), we were supposed to be having a curry tonight (cooked by me) and now im too tired to want to cook anything and i dont want to eat this late anyway, so that is yet another night on my fecking own with nothing but MN and the dog for company

OP posts:
helenelisabeth · 28/04/2008 21:58

Surely MN and the dog is better company than a man?
