AIBU to think mowing grass through snow is not, er, right?

I live in a HA property, as the development is for people who are older or who have disabilities we have gardeners from the HA.

It snowed yesterday and the day before, you cannot see the grass for snow, but they are mowing the grass.

This is the first place I have lived with a garden so I don't know if this is normal.

They could have the blades very high up and just be using the mower as a means of clearing the snow. Or they could be contractors who don't give a shit about the lawn and are scheduled to cut so they cut.

Probably got a target/schedule to hit so they do it. Might also be a service contract where it’s paid for to be done so gets done or they don’t get paid.

Seems like a bad idea, I think it'll just damage the grass.

Yes I think they probably do have to do a certain amount.

To maintain your grass well you shouldn't cut once the temperature is below 6 degrees. But they probably have work schedules to complete and tight deadlines so know it's no good, but have to get on with it.

It's a daft work schedule that includes a mandatory mowing in the second half of November. Anything involving plants should have some relation to the weather.
