Grrrr i went to the fridge this morning to make sandwiches for lunchboxes, take out the clover open it, its empty, take out the newer one and yes, its already been used.

Then went to the cupboard to get the choclate spread out....ditto the above.

The other things he does is the milk, he'll leave about an inch in the bottle (perfectly within date) and go on to open the next bottle.

Exactly the same with his deodorant too.

Do you think it is unreasonable of me to put up some printed out signs as reminders?

It's annoying. Teenage DS does this too. I also get annoyed that they use the last of something and don't tell me/put it on the shopping list. Not sure a printed out sign will make any difference, will just wind them up I suspect.

JackJacksmummy · 28/04/2008 12:25

winding up would be good, so long as he gets thepoint i've annoyed him lol

Janitor...choccie spread for on my toast :p (my DDs school would be sending a letter home if they anything remotely unhealthy in their lunch box shakes head)

posie - yep he does that too, and i just remembered he does it with the last few slices of bread!!! (granted we always leave the 2 crust ends but he'll leave 1 slice of normal bit as well!)

I have a piece of paper and a pen blutacked to the inside of my cupboard, and my larder, does DP ever write that he has used the last of something?
Does he heck.
No YANBU.

Beelliesebub · 28/04/2008 13:29

My ds's do it too.... It drives me wild. I've tried asking them nicely, shouting, screaming, tantrums, feet stamping and last but not least pleading. All to no avail I might add.... SO if you work out how to stop them can you let me know please....

EffiePerine · 28/04/2008 13:34

I do this

esp milk

drives DH mad

nickytwotimes · 28/04/2008 13:35

Oooh, drives me nuts too. My mil leaves a teaspoon of coleslaw in the tub so she doesn't have to throw it out. WTF?

VictorianSqualor · 28/04/2008 13:47

LOL nicky.
I wouldn't mind but when DP does it he 'forgets' so I'll say 'did you use the last of the tom puree?' and he'll say he doesnt think so.
I'll search for ten minutes then he'll say 'maybe I did, I'm not sure'

JUST TELL ME SO I CAN BUY MORE FFS!

DH does this too. Puts empty ice cream carton that I have filled with all the rubbish from tea with (after all the ice cream has been eaten obviously) and puts it in the freezer. It isn't like he doesn't know what I have done, he is there at the table.

DH also hangs on to deodorant and shampoo bottles long after they are empty. I left one in the shower as an experiment once and it was there months before he threw it out.

What gets me is that they must be checking, every time them go in the fridge/shower/whatever to see if they pick up the one that is empty and they still don't throw it out!

KITTENSOCKS · 28/04/2008 13:53

Same here. DH leaves about a teaspoon of chutney in the jar, doesn't screw the top on properly, and leaves to dry out in fridge. Leaves bits of cheese inadequately wrapped to dry out or go mouldy. But the best is peeling the top off a yoghurt, and leaving it on the worktop, even though he is right next to the bin!!! And then he brings the empty yoghurt pot back to the kitchen to put in the bin, and leaves the top where it is!!!!

Where is Pavlovthecat?

Poor Mr Pavlov was getting untold amounts of grief about this over the weekend and then there was the jelly incident....

paddycat · 28/04/2008 14:30

DH has been known to open a nice pack of biscuits or take a slice out of a cake that I've bought to take to tea at someone's house - then seal up the pack so it looks unopened. Then I look a right tightwad taking an opened, scavenged cake round to tea.
