i know worrying won’t make a blind bit of difference but I feel so uneasy and just plain scared. Things seem to be ramping up. Sorry to unburden, I know nobody has a crystal ball but I suppose im just wanting some reassurance I could be wrong itms.😳

When I voice my concerns to dh he just says, “good bring it on.” No wonder I come on here. 😟

Well what is he meant to say?

Miracle29 · 23/11/2024 12:37

Well I must be the most stupid person ever. I felt better lastnight after reading some comments and swore myself away from news however....I completely forgot my new rule and first thing I did this mornkng when sitting with my cuppa was straight on daily mail...now actually not alot was on there so I thought maybe it is all just scaremongering so popped onto the sun and there it was 2 massive headlines, one reading apocalypse, world in dangerous game as we wait for Trump to take lead and uk and nato call meeting. So I broke my own new rule in a night. I need to find something else to read but that's now put it all back again.

That's what my OH says too. He's old but seems to think he would be great repelling Russians from our front door. Seriously though if the Russians use anything nuclear it's more likely to be against Ukraine. They aren't going to take on NATO

Stop worrying and no self respecting person should read the Daily Mail.

Look I am 61. My mum was pregnant with me during the Cuban missile crisis, when the world was a lot closer to nuclear war. I joined CND in my teens when the arms race was escalating. I am not more worried now then I was then.

I live in London and hope if there is a nuclear war, me and my family are wiped out in the first strike. There is not much I can do.

I think Putin is more likely to use cyber warfare or terrorism as a weapon.

Join CND or one of the main political parties if you want to try and change things.

Well, if you read those two rags, it's little wonder you're anxious again

YABU OP.

TYhe threat of nuclear war was much higher back in the 1980s during the Cold War. The threat was constant and real. There was a docu-drama film shown on the BBC called "Threats" in the mid-80s. It was realistic and terrifying. I advise viewer discretion.

Eh. Either we're all going to die in a fiery nuclear apocalypse, or a fiery climate apocalypse. There's not point worrying about it either way. Just get on with life.

Came here to say this!

TrickorTreacle · 24/11/2024 23:19

^^ 2 posts up. Sorry it was called Threads, not Threats.

XWKD · 24/11/2024 23:21

Nobody wants their children vaporised in a nuclear holocaust. That includes Putin’s minions.
