To think that Victoria Wood's Pat and Margaret is just sublime

I'm watching it on YouTube at the moment. So many laughs and yet so many lump in throat moments. Superb acting.
Anyone else watched it?

I still miss her so much. She had so much joy still to give. I had the privilege of seeing her live once, and although you could sense her natural diffidence her brilliance and unique humour just shone.
A true genius.

'And our new line in eyeshadows come in all the colours of the speculum...'

I accidentally caught a programme she did called Great Railway Journeys - Crewe to Crewe one afternoon a while back which was delightful. She was just being herself - shy, curious and hilarious. If you can find it, watch it.

@CheerfulBunny I'll try and find it. I've also realised that I've never seen Housewife 49 either so that's on my watch list too.

It is sheer genius - I watch it a lot

Amazing talented woman she was moving in a different direction housewife 49, Eric and Ernie and pat and Margaret
she had more to give and there would of be greater things to come

CrocusBluebell · 20/11/2024 10:30

I don't remember Pat and Margaret, but I absolutely love That Day we Sang.

Justleaveitblankthen · 20/11/2024 10:35

There's an official biography of her, the audio version is read by many of her former colleagues in turn (including Julie Walters & Duncan Preston )
Enjoyed many happy hours driving as I listened.

She was a complex character, utterly brilliant and suffered no fools 🙂

HurdyGurdy19 · 20/11/2024 11:08

She was just the best at everything. She will never be matched. I think she's the only celebrity death that actually made me cry when I heard.

Our catchphrase from her is "is it on the trolley. Can you point at it"

She is so missed. Pat and Margaret was brilliant. As was Housewife, 49.
