What is this on my daughters face

Hi!

I know you're not doctors- I have been to the doctor about this recently and the doc said he thinks (but isn't sure?!) that this is a wart and to just leave it be.

Does this look like a wart or shall I get a second opinion? She's 4 for reference and it started off as a tiny spot.

It doesn't bother her at all or bleed etc!

Sorry for the orange teeth, I had to give wotsits to keep her still enough to focus the camera 😅

Looks like the wart my youngest had hers was on forehead and took well over a year but eventually went away

Dirtyprotest · 18/11/2024 18:54

Looks very much like a papilloma, which are usually benign.

My vote is some sort of wart.

EvilsElsasPetSnowman · 18/11/2024 19:10

That bad boy is a wart! My DD had them all over her neck. It will likely fall off in time

My son had a similar wart on his face for a long time, maybe 18 months, but he was a lot older and getting self conscious. The doctor couldn't help, just googled it and said give it time. I bought this from Amazon and the wart started to die after about two weeks.

I then used a skin tag/ wart remover kit which uses tiny bands to squeeze them off, and it fell off a few days later. Note it was already dead at this stage. I wouldn't use the bands otherwise.

Just sharing my experience but I would talk to doctor especially when it's on the face.

GildedRage · 18/11/2024 19:19

what ever it is needs a professional (doctor) to check it out.
you're dd is at an age where even if it's benign (harmless) she may poke at it or get it caught.

Definitely not a tic is it?

Definitely not a tic is it?

100 % not a tic

Looks like a mole to me

TMGM · 18/11/2024 21:25

I wouldn’t try and sort this yourself, especially with something bought off Amazon (not everyone is lucky enough that these will work and I have tried myself in the past with very bad results). I think it would be best to ask your GP if you can be referred to a professional such as a dermatologist. As your child’s advocate keep going back until they find someone who can give you an answer, “I don’t know” isn’t good enough when it comes to your child’s health and well being.

Thanks everyone!

@TMGM completely agree, especially with it being on her face I def won't touch it myself.

I will ring the GP back and get a second opinion or make an appointment with a private dermatologist!

This was my daughters just above her eye we saw doctor and private dermatologist both advised it would drop off and to leave it but she was 8 so maybe more likely to follow instructions- no sign of it now and shes 10

@Skihound that looks very much like my daughters, just a little smaller. The doctor didn't seem concerned by it so I'll keep an eye on it and if there are any changes I'll go back.

She's really good at not picking/touching it so at least that's a positive! She's also not yet bothered by it visually which is my main worry so for now I'll leave it be!
