My MIL is a technophobe so when she wants something off the internet she sends details to my husband which then orders it for her. He always orders it to our address even though FIL is ALWAYS home. MIL rang for something else tonight and DH said "it can come here, ChocDrop works from home". I find it really insulting that me working from home means I become their receptionist!?
I've raised it with DH and he thinks I'm being difficult. I pointed out there is no reason for it not to go to their house direct and can't understand why he insists on the items coming here then taking them to them - I suspect for the brownie points from his Mum? It's difficult when I am taking work calls and client calls mid flow and I am interrupted by the door which causes the dog to bark so can't be ignored.
He says I am always getting parcels, he exaggerates but yes I do order things for myself online but with an adult DC working away in the day alongside DH, I am taking in their parcels too. He thinks that his Mums doesn't make a difference on top of this but I disagree as I have to take in two households worth of parcels instead of just ours.
As Christmas approaches, she is always ordering things for presents via him so the volume would soon increase.
Now I feel bad, AIBU? Maybe I'm more annoyed that he just assumes that me WFH means I'm available to do the wife work!
