Hi.
Dealing with the same and assuming its part of perimenopause and possibly some form of androgenic alopecia.

I'm taking Nourkrin hair supplements. They are very very expensive and I've been taking them for about 9 months, going to give it the full year before I make a final decision if they are helping or not. Not sure at the moment.

I also take saw palmetto as it's thought to be a good DHT blocker (DHT is the damaging byproduct of testosterone (simply put) that attacks hair follicles and causes them to weaken/shrink. Saw palmetto is supposed to help but it can interact with some medications so do your research first before trying.

I take silica and biotin too.

Might be worth getting blood count/test done at the docs to rule out any deficiencies like iron etc.

I've also just switched to a solid bar shampoo and conditioner containing wheat germ and rosemary oil, nice results so far. Also better for the environment!

Rosemary oil is good for hair, in some studies it performs as well as Minoxidil. You can add some drops to your shampoo or mix it with a carrier oil and do some scalp massages. It works by stimulating the follicles and improving blood flow to the scalp.

You could consider regaine shampoos and minoxidil etc, but I hear there is a "shedding" phase when these are started which really puts me off.

Alternatively, caffeine shampoos are good, they work in the same way by stimulating the scalp and improving blood flow.

Good luck!

Oh yeah, I'm also about to begin HRT and hope this will help too (but very scared it might make it worse!).

You are about to get recommended a whole pile of products that will cost you a whole pile of money.

Instead, spend that money on seeing a trichologist and get some advice from someone who is actually qualified to provide advice. Or you could spend years wasting your money.
