I never used to be like this
I am 47 and just taken a new role that is leaving me almost paralysed with my inability to do stuff
Simple stuff like sending emails and making decisions
We predominantly work remotely and so send so many teams and emails that I barely have time to go to the loo.
I have big events next week and just so worried about not being able to perform

I can't believe there are so many of us.
It's weird the anxiety does subside during the day, but I am wrung out. So tired. No bandwidth for any fun

Annoyingly we have just been dealt a financial blow too which means that any of the upsides of my new job have been taken away:
It's very depressing

I have made an appt with the doc but it's not until next week
I have 4 crazy busy days ahead from Monday which I am utterly dreading, which involve being away from my family.
I can't bear it

Weight lifting

gamerchick · 09/11/2024 21:24

Weight training.

Was on Propranolol for years before it though. Rather do what I'm doing now.

newjobregrets · 09/11/2024 22:49

Weight training sounds hard

I was telling a friend today how many others have posted on this thread feeling the same, which has made me feel less of a freak about it all
I don't know how we make this easier to deal with

5htp helped me a lot but it is now aggravating my stomach so I'm going to give L theanine a try because I've heard good things.

As well as the things you can add, for me there’s a few things that I’ve had to strictly restrict. Alcohol/ coffee/ chocolate/ excessive sugar (I know I know it sounds like no joy left!). All of them leave me feeling anxious after the initial temporary feel good spike.

I haven't drunk alcohol in a while
I prob do drink too much caffeine but was useless when I went decaf
