To say I'm too old for a pub crawl ?

I'm 49, friend is 52. She always wants us to go on a pub crawl. I cannot bear it. I prefer 1 pub and to stay there all night. The thought of traipsing around the town from pub to pub in the cold and dark - urrgghhh.

Am I being too old before my age ?

No tbh 🤭🤭

It's getting cold, you can still achieve the aim of getting drunk in one setting, no need to roam the streets like a student

I was too old (or maybe just too lazy) for a pub crawl by about 22!

YANBU - find a good seat in a nice pub and stay there.

Unless you mistyped, you’re nearly 50, not 20. You’re definitely not old before your time to dislike pub crawls (and tbh even at 20, if you didn’t fancy it, that would be fair enough).

unfathomable

I grew out of pub crawls at 21. In my 50s I will only frequent establishments where I can sit, preferably with table service, and can chat without having to yell over loud music.

Ovendrone · 06/11/2024 19:16

I've enjoyed them as a way to see a city or because the pubs were of some historical interest. I wouldn't do it around my home town.

Edit, well into my 50s 😆

In my 30s (over 20 years ago) a whole load of us met up in Central London for a pub crawl. We managed to get a table for all of us in the first pub (The Cambridge since you ask). And stayed there all night. We still talk about the famous "one-pub-pub-crawl".

YANBU

It's bonkers..no need for that behaviour..find a warm seat and stay there..ignore friends especially if they are chatting shit and bringing old griefs to the table. Stare at your phone to show boredom and annoyance..Get Curry/Chinese when you get home, that at least makes the night out worthwhile..

I did a couple in my late teens or early 20s, because I was (well, am) of the mind you shouldn't knock something until you try it, but even back then, I could not see the appeal. Find me a nice pub with somewhere to sit and stay there for the evening.
At 48, there is no way in the world I would be doing that.

Oh god I thought you'd be at least a decade younger than me (49).
