Early menopause

Trigger warning miscarriage and possible tmi

I'm 36 and getting really paranoid I'm going through early menopause. I had regular periods of 5 days bleeding every 4 weeks. I then suffered a miscarriage in 2022 and 2023. Since then my periods have been 2-3 days bleed every 4 weeks. I'm not sure if that's because I miscarried or just a change.

This last week I got my period again and have bled for 7 days, despite only having my period 10 days ago. I'm wondering if thats my syncing up with my daughters periods, but I've heard thats a myth. I did start my periods when I was 10 years old. I dont think I have any other symptoms. I'd be devastated of it caused my miscarriages and I couldn't get pregnant again.

There's no way I'm pregnant.

Dont really know why I'm posting.I'm just really paranoid and don't have any friends to talk to about this. Has anyone else gone through early menopause, can you actually find out with a test? Thanks all

If your periods have changed at they are not normal for you, get checked out by your GP

I m 45 now, and have had either 6 or 7 periods this year. Normal until 12th May, then nothing until 7th Oct and then another period 1 month later. So a 5 month gap. Therefore I expect my periods to stop in the next 2 ish years.

However my periods started to change at 37, they got lighter, and didn't release as easily, so the blood was oxidized a little. (brown and sticky).

Anyway, perimenopause can go on for 10 years. It's possible you are entering early stage perimenopause. Our fertility takes a dip after 35 and nose dives from 40 onwards.

No harm to speak with GP if you want to get pregnant again, and if perhaps you can get some help with that, sooner rather than later.

We are still fertile in perimenopause. There are FSH tests, but they are not v reliable, best to chat to GP, and also to have as much sex as possible during ovulation time.

Google early, mid, late stage perimenopause graphs for info.

The average age of progesterone dropping is 35, and I think that can play into miscarriages, I know several women that had miscarriages and then were prescribed progesterone v early on in pregnancy after and successfully carried to term.
I had premature ovarian failure, post menopausal by 37/38. Blood FSH tests can be part of the diagnosis process, but they need to be repeated- I had 6-8 over 12 months I think--to build a picture, levels swing so wildly in the peri stage that one month isn't enough. I had levels ranging from 90+ to 8 on day 3, the 'normal' is under 10
Have a chat to your GP and go from there

Mine got heavier and more frequent at the age of 38. Had a full exploration no issue. I'm 46 and they are same except this year I skipped 2 .
