Hopeful that Christmas cake could be a good breakfast?

I made a Christmas cake (Nigella recipe..I recommend) but for some unknown reason, despite supposedly being on a ruthless diet, I have just eaten a bit by mistake which is really irritating as I will have to make another one now.

AIBU however, to be hopeful that this could be classed as a reasonable breakfast? If you knock a bit of the icing off? Lots of raisins so perhaps one of my 5 a day? And I think they contain fibre?

My Christmas cakes are usually about 70% saturated with sherry which unfortunately rather compromises the health giving benefits of the dried fruit component.

Shhhh now, it’s virtually a fruit salad.

Of course it's a reasonable Christmas Day breakfast! Just make sure that you leave some room for your selection box chocolates (or is that just my house where that's a Christmas Day breakfast staple? 😳)
