To want to resign

I've been working in my job since February in Admin on minimum wage. My employers have decided the role I'm doing is not working and have promoted 4 people from within. (Basically I was doing one part of several people jobs that took ages. Now they have spread the load)
They have now said to me my job is obsolete and either I take the role of customer service or I'm out of a job. They are also employing another customer service advisor.
My issue is they got me to sign my contract now but said I won't get a payrise until January. But they have got me doing the training now on minimum wage. I asked for the payrise now,it would still only be £24,000 but it's an extra £150 a month. They have said no as my contract doesn't start until Jan. The issue is the new person starts next week on £24,000 whilst doing the training but I will be on £20,800.
This isn't the only issue the managers have worked their way up and skipped management courses I think. (Both men)
Very passive aggressive, micromanaged by my office manager. The office is silent all day if you talk he asks if you have nothing to do. He bangs loudly on the keyboard all day effing and blinding to himself. He announces to the office why people are off sick. It ties my stomach in a ball. I'm menopausal and just feel so bloody miserable. I'm doing admin as my health means I can no longer work in the physical job I was.
I feel trapped and depressed.
Is this normal open plan office stuff?

Make plans to go … when I’m in a job, once I make the active decision to leave, mentally I’m out the door (even though I’ll still be applying). Helps with a “fuck this” attitude.

No, it’s not normal and sounds horrible. It sounds as if you have transferable skills - I’d look for another job.

Life is too short to be miserable at work.

Get job hunting. Most jobs must be more enjoyable than yours and pay at least as much - that means that the only way is up!
