To be embarrassed to walk into the Job Centre?

I’ve been looking for work and need to visit the Job Centre, but I can’t shake this feeling of embarrassment about it. I know it’s a place meant to help people, but it still feels daunting. AIBU, or do others feel the same way? How do you cope with those feelings?

You get over it quickly when you have to be there every week to tell them the same thing over and over again.

What are you talking about. Of course the staff can guide and advise.

Don’t be silly op. Get your bum down the job centre. They have contacts to jobs you don’t necessarily have

Or mine.... they're their to check your doing your bit ..other than that nope it's on you to find ways to get work or improve yourself.

If it's an ID check for universal credit it's fine. I was in and out in 5 mins. The man said I was very organised as I had all the paperwork needed. From overhearing other UC conversations I think I was the only one, some very vulnerable people in there.
