To wonder if anyone else is having a shit night

Eldest child is ill. Was up until midnight with him. Then the youngest woke about an hour ago and is still screaming.

i am wondering if I will get any sleep at all.

Congrats on your new arrival and I hope you make a swift recovery. Quite a lot of what traumatised me was actually the aftermath on the HDU/ postnatal ward. It's horrible, isn't it? Lovely when you get to bring your little scrunch home though. Love mine so much, even when he's being an evil little goblin.

I’m autistic so it’s the noise, and the heat, and the non stop itching. It’s a sensory nightmare for me. The pre c section part wasn’t too bad, just lots of waiting around and being DESPERATE for a drink. I just can’t wait to get her home, in our own space. I’ll definitely do much better at home I think.

And then the bright lights during the day as well, I remember that really clearly. 'Sleep when the baby sleeps' but then beaming a one million watt strip light down from 6am. You'll be home soon enough xxx

Me? I should be pushing up zeds, but my guy is in hospital, having gone through yet another op, and when I visited he was suffering so badly.
So sleep feels very far away...
I know I should take care of me too, else how can I take care of him, but extreme worry can make the usual, impossible.

Wishing anyone who's troubled, some peaceful sleep, if only for a few precious hours 😴 💤😴

yup! Supposed to get a flight with ds to go see family in 3 hrs and ds woke up an hour ago with temperature and vomited!! Family have small children and babies and I’m gutted as shouldn’t go to bring germs. Havnt see them in months and was so looking forward to it

My son and I bumped into his friends and all their mums trick or treating, they’d all been at a one of their houses together before hand having a party. He was so excited to see them we ended up tagging along and it was so awkward. When he realised they’d had a party without him he was devastated. Just one of those things but I’m so upset for him I can’t sleep!!

I hope so.
I can’t face another night of this.
My midwife requested a side room but apparently they don’t allow this right after surgery, due to monitoring. I can’t say being kept awake for over 24 hours is going to help my recovery all that much! 🙄

One of my friends tends to wake up at odd hours as well so I just texted to say to let me know if they wake up and I'll go round.

It's only 3 doors down. Feeling very fidgety with sinus pain and sneezing!

I got a side room after I accidentally pooed all over the ward (bum torn + given an insane amount of lactulose). You could try that?

Hang in there! It’s so brutal that first night. I was awake 24hrs post c-section. Why does the ward have to be so hot, it’s hell on earth! I had a woman on the phone all night too. If I’d not been in so much pain, I’d have grabbed her phone of her and flushed to down the toilet 😂

Just focus on that thought of getting back into your own bed and your little one finally home x

I mean that is an interesting idea.
I mean I have already lost all of my dignity, a poo is nothing in the grand scheme of things haha!

Solidarity to all the shit sleep sufferers!!

My children are away for half term so was really looking forward to some sleep for the first time in about 6 years. But my parents are visiting and they've bought their who cried until 11, then fireworks went off at half 12 and woke me, parents got up for the loo at 2ish then the dogs went mental downstairs at 4 so someone got up to let them out. Can't get back to sleep 🤦 Bring back the kids 😂 at least then I get cuddles!!

8mo DS is getting his top teeth. He had COVID 2 weeks ago as well so we’ve had 2 weeks of terrible sleep.

I'm still waiting for my hip replacement which I'm too young for but they agreed to do it because it's just grinding bone now. That's throbbing like buggery, pain killers don't work any more.
My neighbour is awake at 4am again chain smoking next door which stinks and wakes me up.
I've got a work project that I can't stop worrying about (currently working from home due to hip) and the cats are climbing the walls because I shut them in for Halloween to keep them safe.

10 month old with chicken pox over here. Sort of glad I know what it is now as they weren't themselves at all yesterday. At least it's Friday!

Pre op this morning for extensive hysterectomy on Monday (large mass on ovary) so of course I wake up stupidly early and now mind is racing. Can’t wait for this time next week when it’s over and I know what I’m dealing with

Found out at 10pm last night partner of 4 years was cheating. Thankful we don't live together, but we're currently away.

We talked until about 3am. I must have fallen asleep about 4am. Woke up at 5.30am.

Solidarity to those of you who are parents out there. 💪I can identify with lots of your scenarios, even though both mine are adults now.

House sale hopefully going through today but ex is going to throw a fit as I didn’t remove a couple of things of his from the garden, and he’ll have a fit about a couple of other things also. But I offered him the chance to come and help out and he didn’t. He’s been an absolute twit since I found out about his affair last year, just need the CO and divorce to be done …
