I am abroad outside of Europe and I have paid for roaming the roaming will stop when I go back home next week I have had a message from my phone company which is EE saying that if I have a spending cap and I go over that spending cap it will prevent me from roaming and the message also said if we want to contact EE whilst the board this is the number I cannot get through on that number it doesn't bring out and so I don't look quite what to do I need to contact EE to ask about this message and the ideas

Haven't used roaming. My interpretation is that your roaming only works while within your monthly contract limit (including buffer).

Does the number they give include international dialing prefix?

MiddleAgedDread · 30/10/2024 14:28

The spending cap will be somewhere in the settings of your account and it sounds like the daily roaming charges are going to add up to more than that. Do you have an online account or app you can access? I'm with Vodafone and it's within their app with your account details and usage on.

+44 7953 966 250

This is the number that Google gave me to telephone EE from the country I am in and when I try to use this number it does not go through it just clicks off as if you've dialed and incorrect number5

That is an English mobile number. As you are calling it from another English mobile number, you don't need an international dialling code. For example, if I were to call you from my English phone number while you are overseas, equally, I would not need to put in the code of the country that you were currently in even if it isn't UK.

So leave off 44 and put a 0 before rest of number

Use your EE app or download it if you don't have it. You can adjust your spending cap on there if you want/need to.

In future, just use an esim (I used airalo for example)

Rather than £15 for 8 days roaming with vodafone, it cost me £6.35 for 20gb for 30 days

Futurethinking2026 · 30/10/2024 15:01

You can amend your spending cap in your settings on the app. I increase it whilst abroad and reduce when back. If you hit your limit, you just need some wifi to access the app.
We get the message every time we travel.

Flute56 · 30/10/2024 15:44

I contacted EE and they said I don't need to worry about any spending cap just continue roaming because I've paid for roaming said they said the text message that I've received just ignore it
