to not want to see this stuff

I’ve had Facebook since 2006, have never viewed and looked for inappropriate content on there! the past 6 months or year every couple of scrolls shows me a photo of a barely clothes woman or memes based around big breasts etc. Just suggestive and weird content. my marketplace is similar with paintings of naked girls and things of that sort. I don’t want to see this stufff and I’m wondering why it would come up? any ideas. my partner doesn’t have Facebook but does use mine when at work as gets bored on his break. I’ve asked him if his seen anything weird or inappropriate on there and his sworn he never has and when I’ve showed him the market place stuff he wondered how it was actually allowed and not reported. I’m confused as to why it’s now showing? do you get this stuff- I mark it all as show less but get even more!

I get a lot of werewolf porn suggestions. Only one account and I'm the only person who has access to it. I've never searched for, read, or otherwise sought out werewolf porn.

I'm glad I'm not the only one 🤣

I'm almost more offended by how bad (and obvious AI written at times) it is than getting it though

GhostCicada · 28/10/2024 23:59

Posts are suggested based on your activity. For example I am in lots of art groups so my suggested posts are often artists pages.

If it is ads you can click on the three dots and it will tell you exactly why you are seeing them.

I never see anything even remotely like what you describe because my activity on Facebook wouldn't suggest that that is something that I am interested in.

Just to add if you click on the 3 dots you can tell them to show you less of that type of content.

Werewolf porn is pretty niche! Are you sure you're not a werewolf? Grin

FriendlyFriend · 29/10/2024 00:14

Its the algorithm. If youve searched for this on fb or even clicked on anything of this kind it will throw more onto your feed as it thinks its your interest.

if its not you and he has access to your account then well youve got to assume its him

I get that tripe too...never once have I even searches for bloody twilight.

LightDrizzle · 29/10/2024 00:19

I’ve never seen breasts or porny stuff.

I’ve had weird stuff that isn’t in line with my beliefs such as appalling reels of gorgeous mums of babies in immaculate houses extolling their joy in giving up their big job to look after their children but I can usually hazard a guess as to why I’ve got it - watching reels of cute babies in this case I think.

I agree with others that your boyfriend is at the bottom if this.

ForDogsSake · 29/10/2024 00:20

I get them on mine.
I've never searched for anything remotely to do with breasts or anything sexual and there's only me knows my log in.
It's weird.
I've also had random naked women with their legs akimbo pop up on tik tok lately.
I don't know what's going on.

121Diet · 29/10/2024 00:21

I get this shit aswell. I'm a straight, celibate Female not looking for Women or sex either

My reply was hidden but I was basically saying, I get inappropriate things in my ads that I 100% never view nor have any interest in on any platforms 😅

You can see exactly why you are being shown ads. It will tell you what your activity is both on and off Meta that makes them think you would like them.

Sometimes it is just because lots of people with the same activity as you are interested in whatever the ad is about so they think you might be too.

TheCatterall · 29/10/2024 00:34

@chickenfillet123 … the algorithm is telling you something. But there are several settings on Facebook to see what videos were viewed and accounts interacted with.

BobbyBiscuits · 29/10/2024 00:39

Yeah, the only way it's coming up is because your dummy of a boyfriend is searching for boobs via your Facebook account. Utterly idiotic really and he cannot bs his way out of it in any shape or form.

Delphiniumandlupins · 29/10/2024 00:53

Maybe you can change what's coming up by deliberately looking for things you are interested in?

You don't have to do that. You can just tell Facebook that you aren't interested in boobs and they will stop showing them.

Try telling mine that

MartinCrieffsLemon · 29/10/2024 01:06

Ads can be targeted by the advertiser. It can be as simple as them saying "everyone aged 18-80 in X location"

I just had an adoption ad come up. So I decided to use the 3 dots as someone mentioned above... it said "you look at books, clothes, video games"...

None of which lead to adoption 🤷‍♀️

If i were I'd advocate strongly for better written romantic fiction! I'm not into fantasy novels of any kind and yet am besieged by this stuff

BabyOwlinthePlumeria · 29/10/2024 09:03

Have you checked your search archives? Shows everything youve searched until you delete it. Have a look and see if anything shows up. You can also switch off ad personalization so it doesn't feed you ads for things you've looked up before.

CynicalSunni · 29/10/2024 09:37

I once looked at a photo showing something from the walking dead. Think i recognised the actor. I then got inundated with walking dead pictures/articles/videos. I have never seen an episode of that show. Took weeks of blocking to get away from it 🤣. Now i am getting weird ai photos.

Facebook just latches on when you 'interact' with something. I have fat thumbs so hitting stuff all the time. My fb gets weird

GreyCarpet · 29/10/2024 09:41

I’m wondering why it would come up? any ideas. my partner doesn’t have Facebook but does use mine when at work as gets bored on his break.

Herein lies the answer...

ChequerToRed · 29/10/2024 09:44

It may not be fb that’s the issue here.
Yes, you’re feed is influenced by what you click on, which is why I’m currently inundated with funny parrot videos, but it’s also influenced by external search engine results linked to your IP address. So, it could be that someone in your household is looking at boobs via whatever browser they’re using, or it could be that you need to increase the security on your home Wi-Fi in case some nearby random is hopping onto it.

TempestTost · 29/10/2024 09:44

Your partner doesn't need to necessarily look at women. If he looks at "manly" stuff, FB will think he's a man and show him manly ads.

(This is why I get ads for manly deodorant for my (non-existent) balls on Youtube all the time. I am not looking at girls.)

WingsofRain · 29/10/2024 09:47

I get the werewolf porn too, it’s mystifying.

I also had huge numbers of Marketplace ads for drugs which is illegal and against their own rules but the more I reported the more I got.

I’ve never searched for either of those things but I get them so saying it’s because of looking for them is nonsense.

DaisyChain505 · 29/10/2024 10:01

A one off would be a coincidence. Having it there constantly and also the marketplace stuff isn’t a coincidence.

your husbands a dirty little snooper.
