My Ds wears age 10-11 or some 11-12 although is younger, but tall. I’m struggling to find anything warm such as joggers as he wants vibrant items and prints. Today he said he was really cold out and about.

Any brands missing that stock this size in brights? He’s into graffiti style, gaming, neons, quirky motifts, tie dye. Hates grey, black, navy so as you can imagine it’s impossible.

Next works for summer t-shirts, and I’ve used some china cheapy companies for basketball type print shorts which have been good, but stuck for sweatshirts and joggers now he’s out of younger ages. It’s all thin trousers that all look terribly flammable on those China direct ship sites. It’s the photoshopping that means you can’t tell what it will really be shaped like or the inside. He doesn’t like jeans either .. uhhh 😬

I have a tall thin boy. He is 16 now.

Next have a lot more stuff on line.
H&M
Tu/Sainsbury's
Mountain warehouse
Lands End were great but don't sell kids clothes in the UK any more.

Boden

Caspianberg · 28/10/2024 17:45

Boden.
They currently have 25% off the next few days also.
The cords they currently have are really soft, and they do lots of lined trousers for warmth

BadForBusiness · 28/10/2024 17:57

H&M

A mens xs from asos might work- my Ds is a similar size. He tends to wear a lot of sports branded stuff - adidas etc- they have a lot of bright colours etc. Asos often have sales and deals.

Littletreefrog · 28/10/2024 17:59

Loads of bright and neon coloured things in JD Spkrts etc at the moment. DS has Under Armour and Montirex things in some bright colours.

ShamblesRock · 28/10/2024 17:59

Tesco can be quite good for gaming themed tops. (Well they were, my ds is a bit bigger now)

In general- scandi clothes. Villervalla are great for bright basics, and their joggers are great. It might also be worth trying their denim with a waistband- they're apparently very comfy. I think 11-12 is about size 146 or 152.

Lindex are another brilliant place for bright but a bit older kids clothes, and when H&M do collabs, they're usually quite good for older kids- the Keith Haring range was cool.
Also check out Stella mccartney second hand on Vinted.

This small store has a fantastic owner, and do their own brand basics and tie dye, lovely quality.

My boy went through a big phase of DFND at this age.

I bought it somewhere like M&Co or M&M direct. I'm not sure if they still do it. Perhaps Hype is worth a look - I think Next may carry it.

hazelnutvanillalatte · 28/10/2024 18:08

Search Vinted for lower price Boden, Arket, H&M, Frugi, Polarn O Pyret

Ivymedication · 28/10/2024 18:32

Adidas have a retro range of tracksuits my DS loves, also Kenzo on Vinted/ebay.

H&M, Dunnes, Next, M&S, Boden, Under armour, some of the skateboard or surf brands...all of these you have to be quick and choosy - always a lot of beige and grey to pick through.

TKMaxx occasionally too.

It's getting better, but I swear every year my DS is a year or two older than the bright clothes following him. He was just before the Little Bird phase but has always been a bright clothes lover and I seem to be continually searching for clothes for him.....he does most of it now though.

I love it....make him easier to find lol

socialdilemmawhattodo · 28/10/2024 18:54

Mine also liked bright colours at that age. Not the grey, black, white, etc. I used to pick up really nice bits in Tu (sainsbury). Also Next, then he moved on to Hollister. Lands end were great - sorry to hear they've stopped the children's clothing in UK. If you are in Europe at all do look there. We picked up some super quality bits this summer in Germany. And very reasonable.

averitablevampire · 28/10/2024 19:12

Pepco. Has warm tracks, bright colours and gaming slogans etc. but you'll need a big poundland shop, as the smaller ones don't stock clothing, avoid the footwear though, it lasts about thirty seconds!

TeamPolin · 28/10/2024 19:18

My son has similar preferences and I've bought him Hype tee shirts on Vinted. Lots of very bright options.
