To hate my postpartum body?

Don’t get me wrong I appreciate everything my body has done over the past few months and wouldn’t swap DC for the world however I feel as though I’ve had nothing but problems since giving birth. I had a second degree tear and although I found recovery from that was fine I’m still discovering new health problems. Currently 12 weeks postpartum so I understand it’s still early stages but how long until I feel myself again? I feel so broken physically and wasn’t aware I could experience so many problems postpartum

12 weeks is still really early - I ended up with an infection in my episiotomy stitches and I’m sure it took me until about 4 months before I felt more normal down there. But once that problem went away then I started to feel better about myself in general.
But make sure you’re telling your GP or health visitor etc if you’re having problems - they can refer you to someone who can help specifically with post partum recovery. Or you may find there’s someone yourself who specialises in women’s health and recovery etc.

I remember feeling exactly the same, it’s so frustrating and you feel as though change should happen much quicker than it does.
Remember you are sleep deprived and you will be running on fumes - try to give your self grace. Make sure you seek medical help for any ongoing health issues postpartum. I felt and looked much more like myself one year on but having said that I’m just out of physio three years down the line! Congratulations on your baby ❤️

12 weeks is still very early! You are still very much in the healing stage but your feelings are 100% valid.

If it helps reassure you. 5 months PP I still couldn't run 100m without pain and peeing myself. 7 months PP, I ran a sub 54 minutes 10k. Your body is incredible, you will get back to how you were but it takes time. You need to listen to your body, don't push yourself too soon or you risk injury.

These are your mama days. Thick thighs, enormous boobs, stretch marks, it's completely normal and all part of it. Focus on your little one, enjoy sitting on the sofa and having cuddles because in a few months when they are mobile you'll be chasing them everywhere and the weight will drop off. Its actually very rare for women to bounce back in a couple of weeks...
