I've just got back from waitrose. I decided to have a coffee before I set off home, and saw someone grabbing handfuls of things like sugar etc from the stand by the coffee machine and just throwing them into her bag. I think it's unnecessary, and I would understand the shop if they stopped supplying everything. Talk about taking advantage.

Yeah people are selfish and greedy and have got worse. It's all about me me me and screw everyone else

No wonder Waitrose have warnings about prosecution plastered all over their shelves. Their management says they are targeted more than other supermarkets as perceived as having high value items.

Probably similar to the notices about the use of vouchers fraudulently, in our local Sainsbury’s. People want something for nothing. That’s why shoplifting in general has risen by 29% I believe.

The free coffee with a purchase is a great perk, but I can see it going like the free newspaper offer eventually

Greedy people are so selfish

What a bizarre thread title.

It only takes a few to spoil it for everyone else. That level of greed is not necessary. I can understand (possibly) taking some sugar sachets to add later to the drink, but not quantity. And a few sachets - that's not going to be enough for cooking/baking etc, unless you repeatedly take a lot each time from anywhere. And if you are in Waitrose shopping, possibly again you are not needing to steal to feed a family. Just bizarre.
