I'm going to cancel my gym membership. It's too much of a faff to get there, I've not been in months and when I do it somehow eats up a whole morning!

I do need to exercise though, dog walks are not enough.

Please tell me your best home workout apps - paid for or otherwise!

I love the walk 1/3/5 miles exercises. You can add weights, do them in your own time and do as much or as you little as you want. Try this one on YouTube
5 Mile INTENSE Full Body Walking Workout (Burns over 800 Calories) No Equipment, All Standing

CocoapuffPuff · 24/10/2024 16:27

Hasfit app. Weights, hiit, liss, stretching, bodyweight stuff, cardio.....

rosettesforjill · 24/10/2024 16:31

I like Les Mills On Demand (would recommend the premium version over the advanced if you can stretch to it)

ObelixtheGaul · 24/10/2024 16:45

I'm hopeless at planning exercise, so I take an 'extra' approach to every day things. I run up the stairs in the house instead of walking, get a bit more vigorous with hoovering/sweeping, etc.

If you walk the dog, you can make it count more. A friend of mine used to use ankle and wrist strap weights to add to the exercise value of walking. You could also add weight to a rucksack. I think I saw an article about safely doing weighted walking, I will see if I can find it.

This is just me, though, because I find it hard to exercise for exercise's sake. I appreciate you were looking for apps, but if you do find it difficult to find something that suits, there are ways to incorporate exercise in your routine without feeling you have to set aside a chunk of time for something specific.

I'm doing the Iron Series by Caroline Girvan it's free on YouTube, it's great

whoscoatsthatjacket2012 · 24/10/2024 17:21

Les Mills. So many different types of classes to choose from

buffyfaithspike · 24/10/2024 17:23

Peloton is decent, you can get a 60 day free trial
Weights, yoga, outdoor walks and runs, Pilates, stretches etc

Ensconcedinvelvet · 24/10/2024 17:36

Nike Training Club. It's completely free and there are a huge range of workouts, from Yin Yoga to HIIT. You'll find class formats with really motivating coaches or even just instructions. It's mega.

ChildrenOfTheQuorn · 24/10/2024 17:50

Depends what exercise you like, strength, hiit, cardio... I've tried Fiit, Sweat, Courtney Black, Les Mills, Reformed.

BUT I'd probably go the YouTube route: Caroline Girvan, Sydney Cummings etc

Bellatrixpure · 24/10/2024 17:52

Les Mills. I usually do body pump but I like the core workouts too. People seem to love body combat, not my cup of tea but good for cardio. I pay quarterly
