Trampoline

Blatantly posting for traffic (hopefully)

DD 14 has wanted a trampoline for ages and we have now removed an old shed so there is space in the garden (in theory).

If we get one, it needs to be suitable for teens and be as safe as possible while being fun, not sure one in the ground would be popular.

Any recommendations?

Literally any trampoline with sides. Plum are good. Have a good Google and just check the weight limits.

Must be half-term judging by the puerile posts.

now this is a worthy addition to this thread!

I'd recommend putting it as far away as possible from your neighbours

I would rather get her a subscription to a trampoline park. The equipment there is safer, probably more fun and can be used all year round. Or even better, trampolining classes. great for fitness! My friend is a trampoline coach and her gymnasts love it.

This. A tiny trampoline in the garden is going to have limited use for a 14 year old.

One person on at a time will be hard to enforce with teens.

I would say no. Getting a sub for a trampoline park is a great idea.

forfriendlyfriends · 21/10/2024 11:32

Thanks to those recommending trampoline park, we'll go with this it's a brilliant idea and we have one only a few minutes away.

I know someone who works in A&E and three things she says are (1) never get on a motorbike. (2) Helmets for kids on bikes, (3) no home trampolines.

What sort of trampoline are you after? In ground or above ground?

Rectangular, circular or oval?!

Worth getting a good quality one like BERG, ACON, Akrobat or Salta... Which all come from European companies.

There is a big difference in the quality of trampolines out there... Some last a season others have lifelong warranties on different parts.

Happy to make a suggestion if you want more info.

Cheers,
Warren

Well my son snapped his leg in two places on a garden trampoline (we were watching him he hardly bounced just landed awkwardly) and spent almost three months in a full cast after having surgery. So it's a no from me.
While he was in hospital there were two other children in with trampoline injuries (one broken hip and the other a bad fractured leg. The nurses said it happens more than anyone thinks it does.
