Vinted Question

Hiya
I bundled a munch of clothes that are just over 1kg and 1.5kg with a box
But Vinted recommended medium at the time and this is a 1kg limit
But the label is Inpost and Royal Mail logo on it as it's delivered via them but it says that says 0-15kg on it?
It will fit a medium locker. Shall I just send it?
Thanks

It’s quite common. I sent something that I put a large parcel and the label said 500g. It got there fine.

Thanks. So labels used to say 500g or 1kg Iv seen online but all the ones Iv had so far are 0-15kg
Does that mean they have changed it recently
I wonder if it's okay to send anyway

The Vinted ‘recommendation’ is just a guideline.

As it would weigh more than the medium options marked at 1kg I would opt for large at 2kg
(the specific sizes / weights listed can also vary between categories)

However the actual label when produced can vary depending on the selected option by the buyer.
It was InPost that would mess me about with the label, I would have chosen a 1kg medium but then InPost (or whichever it was) would generate an “InPost via Royal Mail” label which was marked at 500gram
I still managed to post, but I was on occasion trimming the box (the overall weight was just over so I was cutting away the inner panels of the lid to get the weight down)
At least a couple of times I was still over and just sent it - I never had a comeback of being overweight

With other couriers the generated label would be the right 1kg limit - or more. Just depending on the carriers choices in the range

Just go for it. The locker size is less than an issue, you are in the range of the label

This is a pic of label. Even though medium was selected

Edited

Yeah I don't have that issue. It says 0-15kg on mine not 500g
Shall I just send it then. Should be Okay?

I predict that it will all be fine

You’re in scope with the label, and InPost/Royal mail probably have a bulk contract that goes by the total number going through rather than the individuals - so they may have moved to a wider weight range on the label

eliayd · 19/10/2024 15:52

@tommika yeah maybe. Thanks for the advice x
