I am SO fed up with my hair

I am in my 30s and I wish I had better hair.

It's mid-length, with the bulk of it past my shoulders but then the front bits have been styled shorter which I don't like and want to grow out.

I've always had fine hair, but it just feels and looks so wispy, dry, frizzy. There are also strands of it at the top back of my head which are really short and basically feel and look like one big split end.

My natural colour is a dark blonde but I have basically coloured it light blonde (very light at times) since I was a teen except during lockdown when I let the natural colour grow out.

I've decided I am going to do that again (no colouring) but I am in desperate need of some tips / products / haircare advice.

I should add too that my diet and water intake is currently terrible which I am sure has an impact so determined to fix that too.

My hair is similar. Can't advise on products/hair care but increasing my physical activity, fluid intake and eating more fruit, veg and protein has made a big difference. I also take a multi vitamin now and time outdoors in the sun helps too.

My nails and skin are also better for the above and I obviously feel more energetic too so the motivation to keep it up has remained.

I know thats probably not what you wanted to hear as its not a quick fix but it's really true!

Do you think you need a different cut too? Fine hair can look very thin and unless you’ve got a good cut mid-length might not be showing it off to its best.

Couldn't agree more. My hair is the thickest and best condition I've ever known since I did all you mention. It's been a very nice bonus to getting healthy and cleaning up my life.
I'd add a silk sleep bonnet/pillow case OP because when you have areas that are short and split its often pillow damage.

/\ 1000%.
That was the advice of my very experienced hairdresser.
I thought she was mad and that if I cut it, I would look positively bald but, she was absolutely right.
The rationale was, take the weight off the ends of the hair strand and that stops it from being flattened against your scalp and makes it look fuller and thicker.
She also advised highlights through it as the coloured hairs swell a bit with the colouring product and also help to bulk it up and give a bit of body.
I went for it and never looked back.

You could take the nuclear option, go full Sinead O'Connor and get it all buzzed off. Looks awesome on some women.

Right so I decided to get it all chopped off so I can start again!!

If you have a good hair care routine and use products that have made a difference then tell me your secrets!!

For starters I am going to buy some biotin later.

Using a sulfate free shampoo and conditioner like Ogx might help. SLS is drying.
