Argh I have a professional exam tomorrow. Its the new version of something I've already done but they apparently have changed half of it.
I have to pass and pass at 85% according to my manager.
It's an open book exam but I have no book at it hasn't been published in time. There is no sample paper. Argh.
I could study The old version and hope.
Or I could just watch tv and try and wing it
Argh

Get off mumsnet and revise as best you can.

xyz111 · 17/10/2024 18:15

I don't know what an open book exam is. Would there be any online things that would help? What happens if you don't pass?

Stressedgiraffe · 17/10/2024 18:25

@TestingTestingWonTooFree I will just waiting till everyone home then will cook dinner then revise.
@xyz111 an open book exam is one where you can take the text book with you and look at it.
But as there is no text book, it's difficult

Chat GPT? According to my son, it knows everything...

Stressedgiraffe · 17/10/2024 18:36

Tried that . Asked it what's the difference between old version and new one. It came up blank which is unusual.
Will reread old version and hope

What are the consequences if you don't?

We had a manager who decided he wanted the whole team certified. Got the trainer inhouse and 20 of us spent a week on the course. He had to rethink his plan when half of us not only didn't get 80%, but didn't get 50% to even pass! (I got 95% 😂)

burnoutbabe · 17/10/2024 18:38

How can a professional company run an open book exam and not actually have the official textbook available for anyone to access? That just seems bonkers and surely you could ask for your money back?

Littletreefrog · 17/10/2024 18:39

In my professional open book exams open book didn't just mean a text book it meant anything. You could take in your own notes, Google things during te exam etc. I would start making some notes to take in. It will help you remember things if you write them down even if you find you can't take the notes in when you get there.

@Stressedgiraffe aww no, sorry. I'll need to let my son know then that its so great after all! He literally consults it for everything! Good luck with your exam tho don't understand the point of an open book exam if there is no book...

Laloca2000 · 17/10/2024 18:41

@Stressedgiraffe meant to say NOT so great...

Stressedgiraffe · 17/10/2024 18:47

Unfortunately I am a trainer so need to pass so I can teach the course. They are getting us to do it before it's released to everyone
