Not british, married to one but he grew up abroad and dont know a lot about own culture besides common things such as roast dinner etc 😊

what do you guys eat and at what time usually? Its so different where i am from - our lunch is hot and usually between 2-3pm (think like soups, pasta, chicken, fish etc etc). In the evening our dinners are cold - sandwiches, salad or whatever.

i am looking for some british meal ideas 😀 kids born in uk and growing up here so we would love to mix all 3 cultures.

If you have a look in a supermarket (or online) lots of traditional meals are now produced as ready meals.

Sausages (bangers) and mash
Cottage / shepherd's pie
Casseroles / stews
Pies, often with mash or chips
Toad in the hole
Hot pot
Fish and chips, usually from the chip shop
Egg and chips - OK you don't get that as a ready meal
Liver and bacon with mash - liver makes the best gravy
Burgers (with or without a bun) with chips

Most people will make a few 'foreign' meals that are actually British like Spag bol, pizza and chicken tikka masala.

You do get regional variations, chip butties are common in Lancashire as is a 'pie and pea supper' which is meat and potato pie, steeped peas and gravy.

Oatcakes in Staffordshire.

In Coventry they don't serve bread rolls with fillings, well they do but they are called a 'batch'.

Fish and chips in Yorkshire tends to be fried in beef dripping.

West midlands you can get a hot pork bap with crackling, stuffing and gravy.

Oh and if you want recipes have a look at Delia Smith Delia's Complete Cookery Course has been around for years and although I don't particularly like her style of cooking (who can be bothered measuring a 1/4 teaspoon of something) all her recipes work.

Yes. A chip butty is a breadcake full of chips. Pure carbohydrate, and about 1,000 calories.

I don't understand the love for chip butties TBH. They are too stodgy for me.

Maybe you need more ketchup 😄

Highly opinionated and loving article here op -https://amp.theguardian.com/food/2020/aug/07/how-to-eat-chip-butties

I've got a nice M&S meal for two - salmon with chilli sauce served with croquette potatoes and green beans. M&S yoghurt for dessert.
