To think that surgery is the only way to correct saggy eyelids?

My eyelids have got so saggy in the past few years and I feel like it's aging me a lot. Am I right I think surgery is the only thing that will help with this? Or is the any non-surgical options to improve it? (Eg Botox)

I think all those women looked fine (and shockingly young!) before surgery and slightly startled afterwards.

@limitededition555 spend the money on therapy to learn to accept your natural aging. All surgery comes with risks, unless there is significant loss of vision why would you want to risk permanent scarring or loss of your eyesight when your eyes currently work perfectly well? We shouldn't be normalising cosmetic surgery, hopefully people in the future will look back and think the explosion in cosmetic procedures in the late 20th and early 21st century in the west was as oppressive as we think foot binding or the wearing of corsets was.

i can’t speak for others on this thread but I’m not old, far from it, my hooded eyelids make my face look older than I actually am.

telling other people that they should get therapy is as rude as if telling them they need plastic surgery or telling someone they need to lose weight. Who do you think you are??

I had it done in my late 20s so wasn't due to ageing - it's genetic in my family. My grandad had it so badly his eyelids dropped over his eyes and affected his vision! My mum and aunty have also had it done.

It has been well worth it. I feel so much more awake and my eyes feel less tired and it has made a huge difference...so to the poster who said it's about vanity that made me laugh out loud - bit ignorant, not the sole purpose.

I had a blepharoplasty a year ago (upper only) as it was really getting to me and the sagging was really bad. I was holding my eyelids up when watching TV.

It has been amazing and I have been thrilled with the result. It didn't hurt, I had it under general (surgeon doesn't do it under local but I know it can be done) and although I looked like I'd been in the ring, for a couple of weeks meh, I just kept video off on conf calls.

I'd share my diary but it's obviously a bit outing!!!

Absolute game changer I look so much younger and feel so much more attractive. I highly recommend it.

FWIW separate to the OP but connected I have quite bad under eye bags too but the lower bleph surgery sounded quite scary. However I was recommended to drink tons of water and also buy a jade roller. They aren't much more than a fiver on Amazon and are quite nice and relaxing to use too.

Upper bleph was about 3.5k privately. If you/anyone are SW London I can happily post my surgeon details.

Hello! I know this is an old thread but would you mind sharing your surgeon’s details? Thanks so much!

My mom had her upper (hooded eyelid) and lower eyelids ( bags taken away) done years ago. She spend years trying every cream on the market, every non surgical treatment and in the end took the plunge. Its the best thing she ever did. Her results are fantastic, she said she wishes she had done it sooner. She looked like she had done ten rounds with Mike Tyson but it was worth it. My cousin recently had the same procedure (the heavy lids are in the gene pool unfortunately) and she said she wish she had done it sooner. She had it done under local anaesthetic so her recovery was much quicker. I personally would want to be asleep 😂

The surgeons each told my mom and cousin that nothing over the counrer will ever get rid of dark circles or tighten your eyes significantly. There's stuff to brighten and de-puff a tired eye, but nothing can take away the skin, unless you have surgery.

These seem too good to be true? Has anyone actually tried them? I can't imagine they are really invisible! Also surely you would feel them sticking to your eye!

They are incredibly fiddly and almost impossible to get in the right place.
If you can position them correctly they do help but your head may have blow up with frustration long before you can achieve that!

I think the options are surgery or a Claudia style fringe.

I did see a post about Renee zelwegger though that showed when she had her hooded eyes corrected it actually changed her so much and looked worse.

I don't think I'll bother then in that case. Somehow I will have to grow old gracefully and accept that my face is going to end up looking like Deputy Dawg's! 😂

I think so. I’ve looked into surgery a lot as I’m avoiding injectables and planning a facelift / eyelid surgery maybe late forties ? I cant have injectable treatments due to allergies but I look awful so can’t Wait!
