To leave a job over this?

There’s only two of us (same level) and a manager. The way the work is split is the other person gets the biggest category to look after - and I have everything else.

This person gets to do huge projects. I just feel like I’m cleaning up the crap no one else wants.

On one hand it’s easy and it good money and on the other I’m bored every day. I don’t learn anything to take me to the next level.

Have you discussed this with your manager?

I have mentioned it in a one to one. Thing is I really like her but she’s so busy she’s just the most forgetful person.

I did once casually mention about a recruiter approaching me for role in a rival company (it was relevant to the discussion) and she did genuinely seem worried about me leaving.

You should discuss wanting to extend your personal development with your manager. Tell them you aren’t being stretched.

Can you request a personal development review and put your case forward for being involved in the bigger projects?
Frame it positively, there may be some development gaps you have - but if you like the work otherwise it's a case of speaking up, following up, and really pushing for it.

I think it’s also that the other person has been told she’ll be promoted in March and has been given objectives to achieve that.

And whether she’s better at the job (I’m not sure as I’ve never worked alongside her) I think it’s unfair to only develop one person.
