To think this is not appropriate in class?

Last week I did supply teaching in a Hindu faith school and heard another teacher shouting Jesus Christ at the year 4s as a reprimand for chatting. Now, firstly I am not religious and secondly I was told it was a non-shouting school so am I overthinking that using JC in anger is not really appropriate?

A non shouting school? Is that a thing?

This is absolutely a thing, although not always realistic.

I work in a non shouting school and am thankful for it. It rarely achieves anything apart from to warn of danger.

It would depend on the context.

It’s obviously not ideal but it depends on why they said it.

I screamed “shit” very loudly once and grabbed/pulled a child, when they nearly got crushed by falling debris.

Both things were unacceptable but considering I probably saved the students life, then I obviously didn’t get in trouble for it.

I'm an agnostic and try to avoid religious-origin swearing; I prefer proper swearing like 'fuck'.
