Working for and being surrounded by high achiever skews your perception of what is “normal”?

I work in a business where I am surrounded by bright, high achieving individuals. This is in many ways great as it keeps you challenged and stimulated but recently I have started to feel a bit more drained by it all. It’s like some of these people don’t actually see what’s outside in the real world and they lead you to believe that you are only “worthy” if you have the best degree and a high flying career earing 6 figures before your 30s.
Whilst I am somewhat ambitious, I also sometimes miss being surrounded by more humble and diverse individuals ans I do not think that people who don’t have high earning careers haven’t made it in life.
AIBU to feel overwhelmed by this? The money is so good but if it wasn’t for that and life responsibilities I’d happily retrain and do something more fulfilling with my life.

I work in an industry with a lot of clever scientists and physicians. I’m supposed to be one of them too but I’m not however I have plenty of pretty average colleagues like myself and we manage to rub along. I’m paid extremely well and try to remember that it’s just a job and these people are only work colleagues. Best just to smile and do inwards eye roll. Although the difference where I work is no one seems to have any issue with where you’ve studied or what degree you have. That sounds more like younger people who’ve just left uni and don’t realise that no one cares.

Unfortunately in my industry it’s mainly the old people who are snobs about education credentials. It creates a bit of an elite type of environments where mainly high privileged individuals are considered worthy
