To be worried about super light periods?

DP and I are wanting to TTC soon but I'm worried about my periods. This last cycle I had one day where I was bleeding a little after going to the toilet and then a small amount of brown blood on the pad for the rest of the day, then a few days of bare minimum spotting and that was it. This has been pretty consistent for the last 6/7 months. GP is unconcerned, I had a mirena coil removed 9 months ago so she thinks it's probably just that but I'm fairly sure I had super light periods prior to having the mirena. They're reasonably regular at least - cycles seem to be between 28-30 days with one cycle of 25 days. GP sent me for bloods (not cycle day specific, she told me to go straight to phlebotomy) which checked oestradiol, LH, testosterone, TSH and vitamin D. The only thing that flagged up as an issue was low Vit D so she told me to take vitamin D supplements in addition to my prenatal. And that was it, no further investigations until we've been trying for a year.

It doesn't seem normal to have this little bleeding though. Anyone else had similar? Have you ever found out what's causing it?

My periods have fluctuated from heavy-ish to light over the years, so what you describe doesn't sound unusual to me. I just enjoy the times of light pain-free periods now!
If you have checked everything else, I wouldn't worry.

I agree with your GP that IUD removal can have an impact. It took months for me to get pregnant after I removed my implant, but it only took weeks for my second pregnancy. I'm aware that anecdotal but I was surprised by the difference.

I obviously have 0 medical experience so can only speak on my own body! That being said, I typically have very light periods that last 3 days. I do have the occasional heavier one to throw me off but our bodies are weird! Everyone is different so if your GP doesn't seem concerned, try not to worry! (Easier said than done I know). X
