To worry constantly about something happening to DP

Just that really. I worry so, so much about losing him. Particularly him getting ill and dying before me and suffering. Sometimes he travels for work and I'm constantly worried about his plane crashing, him being kidnapped or killed in some other kind of accident. Imagining how awful my life would be without him. It sometimes feels like an obsession, the thoughts are so repetitive. Anyone else get this?

This is a pretty standard OCD thing. Have you ever been diagnosed?
I often have intrusive thoughts that I'll lose DH to a car crash and have worked through it extensively in therapy.

Sorry to hear that but glad to hear I'm not alone. I've never had a formal diagnosis but definitely suffer with anxiety. I have sometimes wondered whether it could actually be OCD given how repetitive the thoughts are

This is not my thread but I didn't know @Incakewetrust that these are OCD traits.

OP I'm having similar feelings about my son who has just gone to university. I'm finding it really difficult too Flowers

Yes, I get this too. Before I met DH, I would have the same worries about my mum. It’s really upsetting, and something I plan to work on in therapy when I finally get round to finding a decent therapist! I just wanted to let you know that you’re definitely not alone.

For it to be OCD you have to have the C part.
The repetitive intrusive thoughts that cause distress are the O...but do you perform any type of compulsion? This could be mental compulsion.. constant googling, reassurance seeking, non stop rumination???
Whether it is or not, it would be a good idea to speak to a MH professional if you're distressed by these feelings.
