To ask sports coaches how to get noticed?

Exactly that really. If you’re a sports coach please can I have your opinion. I don’t have the experience in team sports so can’t guide my kids particularly well.

My two oldest are very sporty and are in competitive sports teams. They both play central positions and are very fast (compared to teammates).

They are not the loud, brash types and aren’t the goal scorers but are always solidly on the team. They have a fab time with teammates and like and respect their coaches. They’re both the ones (although different sports) that the opposition can’t get past and pass up to the scorers etc.
As a team they do very well and are undefeated in the one sport and doing well in the other, but they never get any recognition individually.

Ever. Neither of them have ever had POM despite the fact that if they’re not on the pitch the game plummets and they’re put back on. They’re just solid. They’re not going to get goal glory but how do they get some sort of acknowledgment for being there? Other defenders and players have had this so it doesn’t seem to be position based, but this is in various teams/coaches with the only constant variable being them?

Is this just something they should resign to ever getting or is there something they’re not doing to be ‘seen’ as surely whatever it is is what scouts will look at too?

TIA

It's down to scouts looking for talent, usually at competitions.

Coaches just coach.
