Diabetic Toddler unwell

I'm posting here for traffic and I'm very worried
My 2.5 ds who is type 1 diabetic had a high temp 3 days ago and it lasted around 24hours, he had no other symptoms and is completely fine, other than he won't eat. He used to have a big bottle of milk before bed to keep his sugars up so he could sleep in peace. He will hardly eat anything and has to be coaxed with new toys at meal times and be distracted so I can get some food in his mouth. He chews it for a little bit them spits it out. I am really worried and am scared of him taking a hypo at night as he won't eat anything. Please please can someone give some advice xx

He is drinking fine. Won't take his bottle at night which is making his sugar drop through the night then it's really hard to get him to take juice or a jelly baby. He's on the Libre 3 and gets pen injections

If you can't get his sugars up then you need to be in hospital. Don't struggle at home and potentially end up rushing in with a v sick child. Call now for advice and make a plan.

How is he doing today @sicktoddlerhelp ? I hope he’s on the mend.

He had basically fully recovered, still not taking too much of his night time milk but have substituted it with other snacks before bed. Last night at bath time I noticed he had a rash on back and chest that did disappear when pressed, but seemed well in himself. He's still sleeping just now so I will check him over when he wakes up, fingers crossed it's gone

Glad he is on the mend. Have you spoken to the team?

But I’m not wrong am I 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes you are, if his blood sugars are fine what would be the use in A&E? She's wanting advice on getting him to eat or what others have tried in this situation.

Might be a post viral rash, they tend to turn up when they're feeling better. Some illnesses can affect your tastebuds and make foods taste weird, maybe it was that. FX he's completely back to himself when he wakes. If you have any doubts at this age and especially with him being diabetic don't hesitate to get him checked.

My daughter ALWAYS got a rash after a virus when she was little. Often it wouldn't go when pressed with a glass so we ended up at the hospital. She was always fine xx if it goes under the glass and he's feeling better, I probably wouldn't be concerned x
