P taking removal men?

Hi,
I am helping with a house move today. I am at new house while owner is at old house with (paid) removal men and I will then let them in when they get here (followed by owner who is carless so will take longer via public transport).

They turned up at old house and immediately asked for coffee (not unreasonable), then expected biscuits and a sandwich. On the day someone is moving house and has everything packed in boxes! Who makes a sandwich for removal men at 9.30am?!?!

I think they're out of their mind but would welcome others thoughts. AIBU?

Wouldn't entertain this at all.
Completely ridiculous.

I don't want to make assumptions but I would hazard a guess that OP is a woman. Do you think they would ask a man for a bloody sandwich?

They sound rude and unprofessional.

We did an international move back to the UK where I had the contents of a much larger house to move into a smaller UK house. Husband was away for work and I was dealing with the house move and kids myself so found it quite tricky. I was touched when the removal men offered me tea and a sandwich. It was a really tasty sandwich too.

I doubt this is true. If it is they are not professional removers, more likely person with a van types. I would have told them, no let's get going. You have breakfast on your own time not mine

@Doggymummar you think I'm lying? 😂 Why would I do that.

Apparently the words they said were "this tea would go great with a sandwich" to which mate replied "there's a tescos down the road" and off they went!

For those asking if its a professional company, it's the "moving and removals" section of Anyvan.
