Pleased to see the Courts saw sense and overturned their dismissal. Anyone who viewed the bodycam or dashcam footage along with the behaviours of Bianca Williams & Ricardo Dos Santos would consider their behavious suspicious.

Absolutely shocking decision. Faith in the metropolitan police is not being restored. They don’t seem to understand the problems they have.

Absolutely shocking decision. Faith in the metropolitan police is not being restored. They don’t seem to understand the problems they have.

In what way is the decision shocking. The police witnessed a car make an unsafe manouver at a junction. The car then was driven at excess speed down a road. It disappeared from sight. Then when it was seen again and the big blue police van with flashing lights tried to stop it, they made off again. With all that knoweldge, I'd say even the most laid back of policeman would be thinking something odd going on here.

For two people to have potentially lost their liveilihoods out of this incident was terrible.

Interestingly though, Miss Williams seems to have form for disregard for the legal system. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-67613292

What did you see in the incident that you feel was incorrect?

The out and out racism for a start. That you can't see it tells us all we need to know about you.

My God, some people are desperate to cling to the notion that the police are always right. Tragic.

In THIS instance what did the Police do wrong?

I don't know much about this case but having just read the.article, I am struggling to see how these officers could have smelt cannabis? They are Olympic athletes travelling with a baby. They wouldn't have been skinning up in the car.

I am very familiar with the smell of cannabis, as police officers will be. The smell is very strong and distinctive so difficult to get that wrong and think it's present when it isn't. It seems clear to me that they must have lied to try to justify the search. I can't see how the tribunal could come to a different conclusion?

Because they had full and complete access to all the facts and you don't t.

What does that mean? Why does someone need full and complete access to the facts to smell or not smell cannabis?

The original panel decision seems very weird if this statement from the BBC article is correct:

…another officer at the scene had smelled cannabis, but was not found to have lied.

I would have thought if one person could smell cannabis they all could. (And lots of reasons why they might have genuinely smelt cannabis)

Somebody could have been smoking nearby. Somebody possibly had been in the car earlier with cannabis. A nearby house had a grow going. Any number of reasons.

But irrespective of any of that, their agressive behaviour when stopped along with the manner of his driving, did certainly give reason to the police to stop and question them. To try and claim racism was entirely wrong and unreasonable.

And some people like to cling into the idea that they are always wrong.
