Anyone else have one my husband just bought one but I’m worried about the reliability and the parts if anything were to go wrong??

Not an expert.

Imported from where? It's RHD I hope.

If you are in the UK, you may have a car with different spec - odd things like moon roof or lighting spec. Some parts may be awkward.

It may be from a country with different emissions regs, but it came with an MOT right?

Why is it here? Why has it been imported.

Is your insurance company OK with it being an import?

Personally, I wouldn't touch an import with a barge pole, but like I say, I'm not an expert.

I have an imported Mazda. Parts as easy to get as any Mazda car....

I have one. Most of the parts are available on Ebay and I have a local mechanic who understands the vehicle. It's been fine so far.

Shouldn’t be a problem - I’ve owned several Japanese imports, and never had a problem with parts or servicing. If it’s an older model you might find the likes of Kwikfit, Halfords etc are a bit lairy, but for any decent mechanic it’s just bread and butter - my mechanic has been keeping my faithful imported Toyota Hilux and Mazda Bongo on the road for years!

Assuming it is a Japanese import (their cars are generally a similar spec but they have a much more strict "MOT" which makes older cars less desirable over there), it should be fine.
In the modern world spares are available much more easily than they used to be but consumables are generally available over the counter anyway. There is a big (legitimate) industry importing cars and they usually help with rare spares if, for some reason you could not find them through the normal channels.
Even insurance should not be a problem. If you go on a comparison website and declare that the car is imported it may attract a premium but savvy people use specialists who usually provide better cover at a reduced rate (non-standard/imported does not always = bad).

Should be absolutely fine. I’ve owned multiple Japanese imports and have actually bought cars in Japan and dealt with the shipping/import myself. Many parts will be shared with UK versions and be available quickly. I’ve had a Honda dealer get parts from stock in Japan before now without drama.

Even if it’s not something that was available in the UK there will be a lively ownership community who will have seen it all before and can help source parts/resolve issues.
