I keep seeing this pop up, ironically on social media. There seems to be a lot of apps you can download or programs to follow. I’ve even seen Jordan Peterson advertising one!
So my question is, is this woo bollocks? Is it really as simple as just stepping away from your phone more often because it kills your motivation??

Christ, not another bollox label for those who need to have every action they take labelled

I mean being on your phone constantly and scrolling isn’t healthy for you. I don’t think it’s woo, I think it’s good sensible advice. I roll my eyes a bit at someone trying to sell you an app to get you to spend less time on your phone though. 🙄 Surely, the answer is time outdoors, movement, social connection in the real world, but that’s harder to package up and make money from.

Yes I think I agree with both points. It does seem a bit suspicious.
It’s a bit ridiculous because the solution seems simple - spend less time on your phone. But how do you discipline yourself to do that when it’s so appealing to keep reaching for it??

I mean you don’t need an app to help you but some understanding of neurology and dopamine yes this is absolutely correct.

I personally really monitor and cut down my screen use as well as my children's. Typically don't watch TV have very little social media and only intentioned screen use.

All the meta companies and youtube etc are using experts to make these platforms addictive and disruptive to the body. The more you understand it you can use screens in a healthier way.

The thing is, I have read books on this topic. I immediately deleted all my social media only to spend all my time on MN instead 🤦‍♀️
I am useless I know. Must try harder. It’s difficult when you’re sad and lonely 😂
